For those of you who have been following my blog since I came to New Zealand, allow me to say two things: Yes I'm alive and sorry I haven't updated in so long. Truth be told, it's just not as fun to blog when you lost your camera like an idiot. Don't worry though, there were only about a million things I saw and thought, "Gee, I'd like to take a picture of that." Sigh. Here's a quick photoless update of what has happened in the last 6 weeks: Brad and I have both been working full time still at the same jobs, the weather is trying to be summer-y (although it's been raining for close to 24 hours now), New Zealand won the Rugby World Cup, and we are majorly, majorly looking forward to Brad's family's visit in 3 days!!! They will be hanging out in Dunedin for 4 nights, then we're all heading out to the Western side of the South Island to check out Queenstown, Wanaka, and Te Anau. Bonus: my new camera is arriving with Brad's fam so I will take lots and lots and lots of pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to get a good one of Kathy bungy jumping.
Looking to the future, our lease is up at the end of December at which point we plan on heading north to enjoy a nice hot summer. We want to spend about 3 weeks fruit picking to save up some money, then visit Australia at the end of January, where my best friend from home Emma will be traveling for work! We will probably try to spend another 3 weeks someplace warm in NZ fruit picking again until my mom, dad, sister, and bro-in-law come to visit at the end of February and we take a 12-day trip around the south island. Farkels take New Zealand! :)
I do have a few pictures that I took with Brad's camera at the butterfly exhibit at the local Otago Museum to post. Enjoy and keep your eyes peeled for more frequent updates!
